Terms & Conditions

Effective date: July 7, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Koffeelab iOS app and koffeelab.app (together, the "Service"), operated from Denmark. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them.

1. The Service

Koffeelab is a coffee journal: you log brews, beans, setups, and grinders, attach photos and locations, and sync everything to the cloud. It also has social features — you can pick a public username, follow other users, like and publish brews, view brews on a map, and generate stylized images of your gear. An account and an active Koffeelab Pro subscription (or trial, or lifetime purchase) are required to use the app.

2. Subscriptions and purchases

  • Koffeelab Pro is available as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. All payments are processed by Apple through your Apple Account; we never handle your payment details.
  • Monthly and yearly plans include a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. You can cancel during the trial at no charge.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your device's Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions, or via the "Manage subscription" option in the app.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's refund policy — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • If your subscription lapses, your data is retained and access is restored when you resubscribe.

3. Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping access to your sign-in method secure. You choose a username and display name; keep them appropriate, and note that we may reclaim or change usernames that are inactive, infringing, impersonating, or offensive. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.

4. Your content

You own the content you log. You grant us the license needed to store, process, and display it back to you — and, for content you make public, to other users — in order to operate the Service. Bean, setup, and grinder details you create may be published as anonymous snapshots to the shared community catalog, where other users can copy them into their own lists; these snapshots are permanent and carry no personal data. Your username, display name, and avatar are public. Brews you mark public — including their photos and, when linked to a named place, their location — are visible to other signed-in users and on the map. When you use the AI gear-image feature, you confirm you have the right to the photo you submit; the image is generated using a third-party AI provider, and you are responsible for how you use the result.

5. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the Service: no unlawful, harassing, hateful, impersonating, or infringing content; no uploading photos or personal data of other people without the right to share them; no scraping, harvesting, or bulk-collecting profiles, the social graph, or location and map data; no attempts to break, overload, or reverse-engineer the Service; and no accessing other users' private data. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

6. Community, reporting, and moderation

You can report brews, profiles, or users, and block other users. We may review reported content and, at our discretion, remove it or act on the accounts involved. Content you make public may be viewed by other signed-in users, copied into their personal lists via the community catalog, or reported by them.

7. Disclaimer and liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your statutory rights as an EU consumer.

8. Termination

You can stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time. We may terminate or suspend access for breach of these terms. Sections 4, 7, and 9 survive termination.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by Danish law. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.

10. Changes

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
